Walter Metzen is a Board Certified Specialist in Consumer Bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification and represents consumer and small business debtors in bankruptcy cases in both the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. Mr. Metzen earned his bachelor of science degree in Forensic Science at Michigan State University and his law degree from the University of Detroit. Mr. Metzen is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Consumer Bankruptcy Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute and has been a guest lecturer on bankruptcy and debtor/creditor topics at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. He has served as a speaker for the Consumer Bankruptcy Association, the Institute for Continuing Legal Education as well as serving as a member of the subcommittee responsible for drafting revisions to local bankruptcy rules. Mr. Metzen has filed over ten thousand bankruptcy cases for individuals and married couples in the Detroit area over the past 20 years.
