Biography

Michael G. Palmer graduated from the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, in 1993, receiving his degree in Communications. Michael earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1996. After law school, Michael passed the bar in both Oregon and Idaho. He began his career at the Kootenai County Public Defender’s office in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, becoming a zealous litigator for his criminal defense clients and a staunch advocate of individual rights. In 1999, he was awarded the prestigious title of “Jury Trial Attorney of the Year.” In that same year, and again in 2001, Michael was acknowledged by the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys for trying the most cases to a jury by any criminal defense attorney in the State of Idaho. His criminal defense skills are incomparable. In 2003, Michael entered private practice and became a managing partner overseeing Family and Criminal Law matters. From 2003 through 2005, Michael was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Idaho College of Law where he taught Practice Court, a trial skills course from up and coming young lawyers. Also in 2003, Michael was invited to join the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Board of Directors, sat on its Executive Board from 2010 until 2013, and in 2011, Michael was elected President of the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. Today his primary focus is in criminal defense litigation. He practices before both the State and Federal judiciary, and he is continually called upon by his peers throughout the State of Idaho for advice and counsel. Michael is a member of the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
