Gilbert L. Carey, Esq. CPA

Gil Carey is an attorney and certified public accountant who focuses his practice on Taxation, Business Law and estate planning, solving business, tax and legal challenges for middle-market, closely-held businesses and their owners. Gil regularly advises clients on tax matters, including personal, business, trust, and estate tax; and represents clients in tax disputes with state and federal tax agencies and in the U.S. Tax Court. He also advises businesses on transactional matters and counsels business owners on the development of business succession strategies as part of a comprehensive estate and wealth preservation plan. Mr. Carey teaches and lectures on accounting, tax and estate planning, having been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Albany Law School in Albany, NY and at the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School in Charlottesville, VA. Prior to joining Asbury Law Firm, Gil was engaged in the practice of law with prominent law firms in New York where he worked on various taxation, business law, estate planning and commercial litigation matters. Following law school, Gil was a personal law clerk for a U.S. District Court Judge. Before attending law school, he worked as a Senior Tax Consultant in the Boston and Albany offices of PricewaterhouseCoopers where he advised closely-held and middle-market companies on a wide array of tax matters.
