Julie L. St. John is a trial attorney in Wiley Wheeler, P.C.’s Houston office. Ms. St. John has always had a passion for fighting for change and continues to do so by zealously advocating for each and every one of her clients. Ms. St. John graduated cum laude from Tulane University Law School. At Tulane, Ms. St. John was the Notes and Comments Editor for the Tulane Journal of Technology & Intellectual Property. Her comment, Slowing Down High-Speed Trading: Why the SEC Should Allow a New Exchange a Chance to Compete , was published in Volume 19. Ms. St. John was also an active member of the Tulane Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF). During law school, Ms. St. John interned with Southeast Louisiana Legal Services in its Housing Division. Her work at SLLS allowed multiple clients to stay in their homes by helping them navigate the administrative process. Ms. St. John also did a year-long externship, earning academic credits while getting hands-on experience, as a pro-bono intern at a large national law firm in its New Orleans office. As part of the experience, Ms. St. John wrote a clemency pet Prior to law school, Ms. St. John worked for a national environmental nonprofit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, doing community organizing and fundraising focused on improving regional air quality. She did extensive coalition building with local community groups, labor unions, and other nonprofits to build strength in numbers and bring about positive change. Ms. St. John has a M.A. in Communications and a B.A. in Journalism from The Ohio State University. At OSU, she was an undergraduate and then graduate teaching assistant. Ms. St. John also did writing, editing, and photography for The Lantern, Ohio State’s student newspaper. During the summer of 2015, Ms. St. John completed certificates of advanced study and training in dispute resolution and mediation from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in Germany.
