Ankur Shah is the Managing Partner of Shah Legal Representation ("SLR"). Mr. Shah went to Madison, obtained degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, and graduated from the law school at the University of Minnesota. After working on presidential, Illinois state office, and congressional races, Mr. Shah worked for a preeminent Judge presiding over an individual commercial calendar in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Mr. Shah is the author of Increase Access to the Appellate Courts: A Critical Look At Modernizing the Final Judgment Rule published in the Seton Hall Circuit Review. The law review looks at litigation as being in the midst of a transformation due to a combination of factors, including but not limited to rapid technological advancement, the concentrated importance of motions to dismiss, cost considerations of discovery, the increasing frequency of partial and incremental dispositive judgments, and the implications of those developments upon appellate rights and final outcomes in litigation. Mr. Shah's legal career has involved an eclectic mix of highly challenging and varied litigation and firm models - both in terms of subject matter, economic & financial incentives, vantage point (i.e. plaintiffs and defendants), and styles of execution, training and leadership. Notwithstanding the variety, Mr. Shah is fortunate that the cumulative outcome of the experiences was the formulation of a comprehensive approach applied rigorously and regularly throughout litigation - irrespective of case label or type. An approach engineered and focused upon obtaining critical factual information, detailed and customized legal research, friendship and mutual respect, and a shared mission using conventional, unconventional, legal, technological and interdisciplinary strategies in order to obtain optimal outcomes.
