My name is Adam Cathey. I have practiced law since 2006, when I began my legal career as an Assistant District Attorney for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit. In 2009, I opened my private law practice in Ringgold, Georgia. Since then, I have assisted clients in all types of legal matters including criminal matters, divorce and custody actions, and administrative proceedings. I am a lifelong Georgian, having been born in Atlanta, and growing up in the north metro suburbs. I attended John McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia. I enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduating high school, serving on board the USS John F. Kennedy from 1993 to 1997. After completing my military service, I attended University of Georgia and received Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2001. While at the University of Georgia, I met my wife, Leanna, who was in graduate school at the time. I attended law school at the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert School of Law, where I obtained a Juris Doctorate and a Bachelor of Civil Law. During law school, I interned with the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Louisiana and the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney's Office. I also clerked with the Baton Rouge law firm of Guglielmo, Marks, Schutte, Terhoeve, and Love. When Hurricanes Katrina and Rita battered south Louisiana during my final year of law school, I made the decision to move my family back home to Georgia. After passing the Georgia Bar, I accepted a position as an Assistant District Attorney for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, working under the Honorable Herbert E. "Buzz" Franklin. After several years as a prosecutor, I made the tough decision to open my own law practice. My varied experience and legal training has enabled me to help real people with real problems. Ringgold is now my home and my family has become deeply connected to this community. My family and I attend Covenant Presbyterian Church in East Brain View More ›
