Russell James Sweeting

Russell J. Sweeting regularly assists clients with labor and employment issues, civil and criminal litigation and general corporate matters. He represents individuals and businesses dealing with contracts, workplace issues and business disputes. As an experienced counselor, Mr. Sweeting advises clients on minimizing potential liabilities, pursuing cost effective litigation or arbitration and on the complexities of various legal transactions. The clients of Mr. Sweeting range from local residents and professionals to small businesses and multinational corporations. He specializes in representing individuals and companies in the financial services industry. He provides legal assistance to asset managers, hedge funds, broker-dealers, traders, analysts and to many others within the industry. Mr. Sweeting has successfully litigated a variety of claims in state and federal courts or through arbitration relating to contract breaches, fraud, unfair trade practices, collection actions, restrictive covenants, intentional torts, negligence, wrongful termination, state and federal discrimination laws, wage and overtime laws, whistleblower cases and criminal misconduct. Mr. Sweeting earned his J.D. from New York Law School, graduating cum laude. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he received a B.A. in economics and history and regularly appeared on the Dean’s List.
